Certification process

How to become a green brewer

Complete a form. Gather the necessary paperwork. Meet the certification criteria during an on-site assessment.
  1. Complete the Missouri Green Brewery Certification Application form (.pdf).
  2. Submit utility data:
    • Attach one year's worth of monthly utility statements, including:
      • Water
      • Sewer/Wastewater
      • Electric
      • Gas
      • Waste services and recycling​
  3. Schedule a site visit
    • Staff from the Ozarks Environmental and Water Resources Institute (OEWRI) will contact you to arrange a site visit for a checklist and operational review.
  4. Prepare and present documentation
    • Documentation should show compliance with specific benchmarks during the benchmarking assessment. This documentation will be reviewed by staff during the site visit.
  5. Meet the certification benchmark
    • A minimum of 62% out of the maximum applicable benchmarking points is required to qualify for certification.
